The Sheraton Chicago O’Hare Airport Hotel is located on Mannheim Road in immediate vicinity to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), one of the world’s busiest international gateways. The 296-key upper upscale hotel was acquired on May 5, 2011 by a Minneapolis-based equity fund as part of a repositioning strategy.
The all-suite hotel has undergone a complete renovation of all guest rooms and public spaces. The completion was celebrated in April 2012.
The design team incorporated current fashion and lifestyle trends that highlight heritage and pay homage to the brand's rich, 75 year storied history. The result is a classic design concept that is approachable and refined with a modern twist. Furniture profiles have curved corners and textiles have curved interlocking patterns - all of which are complemented by the design's rich color palette of camel and tan with accents of plum and black.
The new Sheraton rooms also feature eco-friendly materials including CFL lighting features and low-flow plumbing. The new Sheraton interiors were designed to be warm and welcoming with a decidedly modern look and feel.
The square atrium features a large backlit bar as the center piece. The adjacent space hosts the Link@Sheraton(R) experienced with Microsoft®” the brand’s signature social hub providing travelers with the opportunity to stay connected with instant access to information and technology for work, leisure and social networking. The remaining spaces are occupied with a newly-developed proprietary restaurant concept and many social spaces to lounge and interact.
The Sheraton is also ideal for business meetings and social functions of all sizes, offering 12,000 square feet of flexible meeting and the latest in meetings technology. Additional amenities include Sheraton Fitness, Programmed by Core Performance, designed exclusively for Sheraton guests.
Wischermann Partners completed a thorough due diligence analysis within 45 days. The closing took place within weeks after all conditional clauses had been removed. Wischermann Partners was project managing the multi-million dollar renovation while operating the hotel, minimizing impact to guest experience.
