This upper-upscale development was planned to be located in Ontario, CA within the Piemonte master plan development adjacent to the newly built 11,000-seat sport and entertainment complex Citizens Business Bank Arena. Other components of the master plan include specialty retail, class-A office and luxury residences. The Los Angeles International Airport Ontario can be reached within 1 mile.
The 7-story hotel featured 262 rooms and suites. The Westin Ontario offered 12,000 square feet of meeting space with a ballroom capacity for up to 400 people and a destination restaurant with a bar & lounge overlooking Main Street of the Piemonte development. The hotel rooms featured Westin's award-winning Heavenly Bed, Flatscreen TV's, Minibars and large work desks. The Heavenly Bath offered large showers with a proprietary dual-shower head. The outdoor pool and cabanas were located within the interior courtyard presenting additional outdoor event space. Westin Workout, a state-of-the-art fitness center completed the wide array of amenities.
Wischermann Partners developed the overall concept for this development, securing the Westin brand via contract negotiations with Starwood Hotels Worldwide. Wischermann Partners provides hospitality development consulting services to Ryan Companies and had been selected to operate the hotel.
The development effort of The Westin Ontario was halted with the start of the recession in 2008.
